THE PALACE PISANI - MORETTA
The splendid
Palazzo Pisani-Moretta, overlooking the Grand Canal, was
erected at the end of the 15th century and is a magnificent
example of late gothic architecture. Several expansions and
restorations began in the 18th Century when the last
important works which gave it its present day appearance
were completed with wonderfully elaborate Baroque decoration
inside, is the work of the most outstanding Venetian artists
of the 18th Century such as Giambattista Tiepolo, Jacopo
Guarana, Gaspare Diziani. Thanks to the restoration work of the last decade and the recovery of its original antique furnishings, the Pisani Palace has regained the splendour which in past centuries was admired by famous visitors among whom Tzar Paul of Russia, Joséphine Bonaparte and Joseph Il ofAustria.
for the Gala Dinner the palace will be illuminated by hundreds of candles. |
