VENETIAN LADY IN "ANDRIENNE" Born in France for a theatre show (The daughter of Andrio - 1703) the "Andrienne", imported in Italy by the Duchess of Orléan had an enormous succes in Venice where became the most appreciate dress for the Carnival 'till the 19th century. The Andrienne is characterised by a sort of mantle attached at the shoulders. Costume in brocade, richely embroidered with Venetian pearls, laces and passementerie. Skirt in green silk.
