 "THE YOUNG CASANOVA"
written by Romana von Schilgen and Fabio Momo
from the "Memories of Giacomo Casanova de Saintgalt"

Stage director: Fabio Momo.
Costumes designer: Romana von Schilgen.
Orchestra director: Riccardo Parravicini.
Choreographer: Gabriella Furlan Malvezzi.
Original songs: Alessandro Moro

This show has been produced for theatres and special location. A short version is performed every year at the "Ridotto" (public gamin room often frequented by Casanova) during the Carnival of Venice.

The story, taken by the Memories of Casanova, tells about the life of the young Casanova from the death of his father when he was a little child since his escape from the Venetian prison. The life of Casanova, a magnificent fresco of the cosmopolitan and libertine life of the XVIII century, is narrated by an actor while opera singers and the orchestra perform arias and music by Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Haendel and other masters of the baroque age. Actors, acrobats and dancers recreate the atmosphere of Venice and Istanbul, from the magic palace of a pasha where Casanova had a homosexual affair since the lively and exciting golden age of the Carnival of Venice, when the famous libertine had a love adventure with a nun, Maria Maddalena, belonging to a noble family.
The music play has been represented with success in theatre and in historical palaces, thanks to its setting composed only by stage elements and by the sumptuous costumes created by the Atelier Tiepolo.
